Online Roulette Rules

The Online Roulette rules are straight forward. It is all a matter of knowing how to bet and how each bet pays out. While there are more advanced roulette strategies you can try, it all boils down to that.

The bets are simply about where a ball will land on the spinning wheel. Every spot on the wheel has a number, which is either shaded as red or black, with the exception of 0 (and 00, in the American version), which are, in most cases, green.

All bets are divided into two kinds: inside bets and outside bets. When you look at a roulette table, you will see a square of numbers. Any bets placed on the individual numbers are inside bets. Bets placed on the squares surrounding the grid are outside bets. Let’s look at this in more detail.

There are a variety of inside bets you can make, and these pay out different amounts. A straight-up bet is the simplest bet you can make, betting on a single number. This kind rewards you 35 to 1. You can also make a split bet, or bet on two numbers. You can do this by placing your chips on the line between those numbers, meaning you can only do this kind of bet with numbers that are adjacent to each other. It pays out 17 to 1. A street bet allows you to bet on a complete row of three numbers by placing your bet on the line at the end of the row. The last kind of bet you can make is called a corner bet, allowing you to bet on four numbers by placing your chips on the location they merge. A common roulette strategy is to make use of multiple kinds of bets over the course of the game, sometimes in the same round.

Outside bets come in handy for that strategy, too. These bets are somewhat self-explanatory, with the squares already giving you the information you need to know what you are betting on and where to set your chips. A low or high bet is made using either the “1-18” or “19-36” squares, whereas an even or odd bet is called by placing your chips on the corresponding square. Those two, along with the red and black bets, pay even money. Finally, there are the dozen bets and column bets, with each pay out 2 to 1.

The rules surrounding when to place the above bets are pretty easy to understand as well. At the beginning of each round all participants start placing their bets. Once everyone has had the opportunity to do so, the Croupier then spins the wheel and releases the ball. There is still time to place your bets until the dealer calls “No more bets.” When he says that, no more bets are tolerated until after the round finishes and all the winners are payed.

It truly a simple game to play, is it not? There are advanced strategies you can try to increase your odds of winning, and systems created by professional players that are very debated about regarding how much they work in giving players an edge at the table, but these roulette strategies are numerous, and discussing all of them here is not possible. A quick search on Yahoo will provide you to all the roulette tips and strategies you could ever want.

So get out there and hit those casinos and play, using all the strategies and tips you learned from the searches you just made, and win!
